Who Will Evaluate

 

  • Critical that teachers be involed in evaluation of instructional programs, and the overall instructional effectiveness of their schools.
  • Such participations is defined as "shared decision making, rather than just advising or providing input".
  • Crosby (1982) suggested that teachers take part in the evaluation of such programs by participating in:
    • clarifying the program's goals and determining indicators of success.
    • Developing a design for the evaluation study.
    • Developing methods of measurement.
    • Responding to interviews and other evaluation instruments.
    • Reporting on the evaluation study (pg. 152-155).
